| I am pleased to announce that Tara Wright is the first winner of the Lisa Franks Scholarship. Tara Wright had open heart surgery in March of 1999 to repair a valve that had prolapsed at birth. She was in the Saskatoon Royal University hospital for two weeks and home recuperating for two more weeks. She made a complete recovery, surprising everyone including her doctors. She returned to school and continued to remain active in soccer, basketball, and track & field - all while maintaining a high academic standing. Tara is currently attending the University of Saskatchewan. | |||||||||||||||||||
